What's new in PISPWV!
Our quarterly meeting was held on May 18, 2018, at the beautiful North Bend State Park.
Lisa presented on Social Media Investigations, with good tips and tools to enhance your investigation repertoire. The amount of social media networks is staggering, and the number of websites providing some, albeit questionably valuable data, is also staggering. Lisa showed us some of her tricks and tips to conducting an online investigation. Good stuff!
Rob presented on the use of drones for investigation and gave us a live demonstration of a <$1000 drone - an amazing piece of equipment that every investigator should consider for his bag of tools. The drone was surprisingly easy to fly, quiet, and gave a live video stream. There are some concerns about licensing, registering the drones, and FAA rules and Rob covered those in the classroom portion. Good stuff!
